Production Operator


A great opportunity to join a growing photonics company. Redfern
Optical Components (“ROC”) manufactures innovative optical fiber
components which are used in telecommunications networks
around the world.

We are looking for positive, highly motivated people who take pride
in their work. Attention to detail and good manual dexterity are
essential. Candidates must be able to work in a production team to
meet to meet demanding targets.

Duties:
Assist in the manufacture of optical fiber products in a cleanroom
laboratory environment, including:

• Acid stripping, polymer re-coating, colouring and visual
inspection of optical fibers
• Measurement of optical fiber devices using laboratory
equipment such as OSAs
• Packing and shipping of products
• Rapidly learn new assembly processes as required


Competencies & Qualifications:

• Experience in handling optical fibers and working in a
cleanroom preferred
• Excellent eyesight, manual dexterity and patience
• Technical TAFE level education or equivalent in an area
related to optical fibers preferred
• Good computer literacy in Word and Excel
• Clear spoken communication
• The right to work in Australia
